Our story
Black Rock was the first private community on Lake Coeur d’Alene. Although originally established as a developer-owned venture, the club is now privately owned by devoted club members, who’ve remained committed to ensuring Black Rock’s laid-back lifestyle and close-knit community continue on.
One visit, and it’s easy to see this is a place where nature, heritage, and tradition are valued just as deeply as authentic connection, camaraderie, and warm hospitality. With expanded memberships and an array of amenities, we can confidently say our club is better than ever.

Not only is this vibrant community filled with exceptional people and endless things to do, but it’s also really, really beautiful. In fact, National Geographic has called Lake Coeur d’Alene one of the five most beautiful lakes in the world.
With just over 50,000 residents, Coeur d’Alene manages to keep the charm of a small town while delivering big on attractions and activities. Here, you can walk the world’s longest floating boardwalk, shop locally-owned boutiques and galleries, visit acclaimed spas, hike picturesque trails, sip wine at local wineries and wine bars, bike along the 24-mile North Idaho Centennial Trail, and much more—all just a 20-minute drive from Black Rock. Even more, the town knows how to do the holidays right, including parades and fireworks for Independence Day and the Christmas season.
From festive holidays to family fun and outdoor adventures, Coeur d’Alene is never short on ways to fill up your days, all year long. But, in case you need more action, we’re only 30 miles from Spokane, Washington—home to an international airport and all the essentials, from top-tier hospitals and universities to great shopping and dining.
